INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS

An industrial design is the two-dimensional or three-dimensional form of presenting products, focusing on their aesthetic appearance. To be protected, designs must be novel, meaning they must not have previously existed anywhere in the world.

Designs are registered with the industrial property office of each country, typically for 10 years, non-renewable. Once this period expires, they enter the public domain.
